Attorney Greg Snell recently spoke to the Flagler County Medical Society on the topic of "Physician Liability: It's Not Terminal." More specifically, Mr. Snell, who regularly provides legal representation to physicians and their medical practices, spoke on physician liability for alleged malpractice in the aftermath of the passage of Amendments 3, 7 and 8 last November. Amendment 3 relates to a limit on attorney fees in medical malpractice matters; Amendment 7 relates to disclosure of physician peer review information; and Amendment 8 relates to loss of license to practice medicine following three determinations that a physician has had an adverse incident involving patient care. Mr. Snell discussed the litigation that has arisen regarding the Amendments, possible regulations for the Amendments and potential additional medical malpractice tort reform on the state and federal levels. He wrote an article for the Volusia/Flagler Business Report on the Amendments and a proposal for alternative tort reform prior to the election which appears elsewhere on the News page of this site. Mr. Snell frequently speaks and writes and has previously spoken before such organizations as the Volusia County Medical Society, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Volusia County Bar Association, the Volusia Association of Legal Assistants, the Flagler County Personnel Association, the Southeastern Claims Association among others.
